Femi Akinsanmi is an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Queensland in the Centre for Horticultural Science in Brisbane. Femi is the Theme Leader for Healthy Agriculture, Food and Communities at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI). He is responsible for developing new initiatives to manage pests (insects, diseases, and weeds) in agriculture and food systems. Femi specialises in plant disease epidemiology and management. In the past 20 years, Femi has collaborated with plant breeders and agronomists to create solutions to priority challenges for the macadamia industry. He has been acknowledged for exceptional leadership abilities in training PhD students.
