Fiona Constable

Dr. Fiona Constable leads the Microbiology group of Agriculture Victoria Research (AVR) of the department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and is a joint appointee within the School of Applied Systems Biology at La Trobe University. She is located at the Centre for AgriBioscience (AgriBio at Bundoora in Melbourne. She focuses on cutting-edge research to improve biosecurity and pest and disease management in plants and animals. Dr. Constable has more than 34 years’ experience in plant viruses and phytoplasmas, including ecology, diagnostics and biosecurity. She is a member of the Subcommittee for Plant Health (SPHD) and co-ordinates the SPHD High Throughput Sequencing Working Group.
